Woodland Park City Council Passes Resolution Endorsing 2A Unanimously

CITY OF WOODLAND PARK COLORADO

RESOLUTION NO   , SERIES 2014

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF WOODLAND PARK COLORADO

 

WHEREAS, the residents of Woodland Park have long desired an Aquatic Center with the first ballot initiative in April 1996; and

WHEREAS, an Aquatic Center can meet the significant health and year round recreational needs for the entire city demographic; and

WHEREAS, City Council review of the 2014 City Budget together with the projected revenue stream from current tax rates confirmed the financial feasibility of the payment of municipal bonds for the capital investment of an Aquatic Center with NO INCREASE to tax rates now or in the future; and

WHEREAS, City Council passed Ordinance 1219 “SUBMITTING A REFERRED MEASURE CONCERNING THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS  FOR AN AQUATIC CENTER AND ASSOCIATED INFRASTRUCTURE TO THE CITY’S REGISTERED ELECTORATE AT A MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD NOVEMBER 4TH 2014”

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE WOODLAND PARK CITY COUNCIL THAT:

THE REGISTERED ELECTORATE OF THE WOODLAND PARK ARE ENCOURAGED TO VOTE IN FAVOR OF BALLOT QUESTION 2A.
